How do you support yourself during grad school?

This may seem a little naive but I've been thinking about going back to school and getting a master's degree and hadn't really thought about how I would afford living expenses on the side! uming I go to a school in another state from where I am now (so I'd have to leave my job), how do most people support themselves through a master's? I know PhD programs often have stipends but do master's programs as well? Or do most people find enough time to work on the side while attending school? Are student loans enough to live off of?
