Can i self-repair the cloth top on my convertible?

i have a convertible with a cloth top (kind of canvas-like) and one of the seems is coming apart. this seam was not sewn, but it looks like it was put together with some kind of adhesive. can i fix this myself with some epoxy or some other strong waterproof glue or is my best bet to just get some heavy duty coloured duct tape and slap that bad boy together? if i can go the glue route, is there a special glue that is recommended?
