How to help a friend in haiti?

My doorman's wife and baby are in haiti and struggling. The baby is 22 weeks old and has no food. His wife is okay, but is living in the streets. I know I can easily raise $5000 or $10000. Can we fly them out of haiti? are boats running? what can I do to help my doorman?!
