The mighty Somalian Pirates?

I see gigantic ships captured by stinky,skinny "pirates" in row boats with rusty ak's that blow in theyr hands when they try to fire them,so what im asking why dont the companys hire security detail,or mount some .50 cals on those ships,some kind of protection,to escape from the drama that involves taking hostages and so on.
