If i have a xbox 360 ethronet cord to do live and i connected it to 2 comps could i do a vs mode?

so if i use my xbox 360 cord with it to send and recieve data but i do not hook my computers up to the internet i just use the xbox 360 cord could i vs my brother on a game called stronghold crusader? just my comp connect to his and we can vs? do you think i can do that?
