The spanish sentence structure?

Okay, So I'm trying to learn Spanish with BYKI (a language learning system) But Sometimes I think it might be wrong. Like when it says Can you help me: Me puede ayudar. i understand the spanish sentence structure, Subject verb noun adjective. But what I dont get is Me puede ayudar. either way you put it, it doesnt sound right. Some one please help me understand!
